DMC Recruitment connects Sydney businesses with commercial and analytics professionals who turn data into competitive advantage. In a market where demand outpaces supply, we source the business intelligence specialists, data analysts, and commercial strategists who drive data-driven decision making across Australia's leading organisations.
We recruit across the full analytics spectrum—from business analysts and commercial analysts to data scientists, insights managers, and heads of commercial strategy. Our candidates combine technical excellence (SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI) with commercial thinking, stakeholder management, and the ability to communicate complex insights that influence business outcomes.
Sydney's best commercial and analytics talent choose opportunities through DMC Recruitment because we understand the market. Whether you need a pricing analyst, category manager, business intelligence specialist, or commercial finance professional, we deliver candidates who match your technical requirements and cultural values.
This is one of the hardest combinations to find—technical analytical capability plus executive presence. In Sydney's market, these people are typically already in senior roles or being groomed internally. We look for candidates who've had exposure to Board or C-suite presentations, who can tell the story behind the data, and who've demonstrated impact beyond producing reports. We also test for this in our screening process before they ever reach you.
The difference between reporting and insights is commercial acumen. You need someone who understands the business context, asks "so what?" after every data cut, and can connect the dots to actionable recommendations. We screen for candidates who've worked in commercial roles or cross-functional teams where they've had to translate analysis into business decisions—not just people who are technically strong in Excel or Power BI.
Start senior. You need someone who can define what 'good' looks like, build the frameworks, and establish credibility with the business. Hiring junior first means you're building without a blueprint—and you'll likely end up replacing them once you realize what you actually need. A strong Commercial or Analytics Manager can then build out the team beneath them with the right structure.
We use scenario-based questions and case studies in our process. For example: "Walk me through a time when your analysis changed a business decision—what was the data, what was your recommendation, and what happened?" We're listening for how they approached the problem, how they communicated it, and whether they understood the commercial implications. We can also help you design interview questions that probe for this.
