Commercial Finance Manager - PMO & Governance
Our client, a major Australian infrastructure organisation, is running a high-profile internal review program with a fixed deadline early next year, followed by a period of ongoing information requests.
They need a Commercial Finance Manager with strong PMO and governance skills to bring financial rigour to the program. You’ll coordinate financial and commercial information from across the business, test and challenge it, and keep the program on track. Subject matter experts are in place. Your job is to make sure the numbers, the story and the timeline all line up.
The Role - Coordinate and quality-assure financial and commercial information from across the business, making sure it’s accurate, consistent and supported by evidence
- Analyse and challenge capital and operating expenditure, variances and cost drivers, and help explain the outcomes clearly
- Provide PMO oversight across multiple workstreams: plans, trackers, RAID and dependency management
- Prepare steering committee and executive papers that combine financial and delivery reporting
- Respond to information requests with clear, well-supported financial analysis
- Work closely with Finance, Commercial, subject matter experts and external advisers
- Manage the program budget and resource forecasting
About You - CA or CPA qualified, with commercial finance, FP&A or finance business partnering experience
- Experience working in or alongside a PMO on large programs, including governance, reporting and RAID management
- Strong understanding of capex and opex, asset and capitalisation processes, and program financial management
- Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders and subject matter experts on numbers and assumptions
- Clear writer who can turn financial analysis into concise executive papers
- Experience in infrastructure, utilities, government or other regulated, high-scrutiny environments is highly regarded
