Financial Accountant - Financial Services
DMC Recruitment is thrilled to partner with a prominent and established Australian Financial Services firm in their search for a Financial Accountant to join its team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to get involved in a broad finance role, work with a range of stakeholders and grow with the business.
This role, reporting to the Financial Controller will support financial and management accounting, tax compliance, facilitating the year-end audit and ad hoc project work. This role requires 5 days per week in their CBD offices.
Key Responsibilities: - Support month-end activities and support regular reporting cycles
- Preparing income tax calculations, annual tax returns, journals
- Ensuring tax compliance responsibilities i.e. GST and BAS
- Prepare and submit the annual FBT return, monthly Business Activity Statements, tax instalments, and PAYG payments
- Manage payroll tax compliance, ensuring obligations are met in full and monthly/annual returns are submitted accurately
- Coordinate and oversee both internal and external audit processes to ensure they run smoothly and meet all requirements.
- Support the wider finance team on ad hoc projects
Key Skills:
- CA/CPA Qualified or studying.
- 3+ years of experience within a Commercial or Public Practice firm
- Financial Services experience valuable, but not required
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Clear communication skills with an ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
