Financial Accountant

DMC Recruitment is partnering with a mid-sized, established Australian construction business who are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant within their team. This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation that's investing in its finance function and looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and partnering with the wider business.
There is also significant opportunity to progress and grow with the business in the medium term as well, providing opportunities to develop your skillset and take on more responsibilities as well.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the month-end close process, including journals, reconciliations and fixed assets.
- Preparing BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, FBT, Superannuation and supporting income tax obligations.
- Monitoring daily cashflow, preparing cashflow forecasts and supporting working capital management.
- Reviewing payment runs, supervising AP & AR activities and supporting the Finance Operations team.
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting.
- Producing monthly management reports, balance sheet reviews and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
Ideally you'll have:
- CA or CPA qualification (or be working towards completion)
- Experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business
