Project Accountant - Infrastructure
DMC Recruitment is thrilled to be partnering with a major infrastructure organisation in their search for a Project Accountant to join their team supporting on large-scale infrastructure projects. Supporting a portfolio of critical energy infrastructure projects, this role sits within a large capital delivery environment and works closely with project leaders to provide accurate financial reporting, forecasting and decision support.
The position has been created to strengthen financial oversight across a growing project portfolio and offers direct exposure to nationally significant infrastructure investment. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts
- Prepare project cashflow forecasts and financial plans
- Support asset capitalisation and cost accounting activities
- Prepare month-end accruals, journals and reconciliations
- Investigate reporting anomalies and perform root cause analysis
- Produce financial reports, dashboards and performance commentary
- Assist with contractor approvals, commercial analysis and decision support
- Partner closely with project teams on labour, capex and opex cost control
- Support system improvements, project set-ups and financial process enhancements
- Contribute to audit, regulatory and reporting requirements
To be successful, you will likely bring: - Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Experience in project accounting within a large and complex organisation
- Strong financial accounting and analytical capability
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Exposure to infrastructure, construction, engineering, utilities or other project-based environments
